Something motivated me to revamp this blog, perhaps it's because I've got lots of things to write about. First thing, since the last time I wrote, way back in 2007, I got married to Mr. Cop. The journey has been undeniably crazy, passionate, adventuresome, exhausting, bewildering, and add whatever adjective you'd like at this point.
I ended up with a dream engagement ring and wedding band. We got married in Maui on the beach and our wedding photos ended up being published in Town & Country Magazine (a secret dream I had ever since I started reading the magazine in high school). I'll post pictures later. I certainly had a reason to get in shape and that I've done.

Since being married, I had the opportunity to become a certified Yoga Teacher by doing an energy exchange at the studio, which translates to not having to pay $4000 for the program and learning more about the business. What a romp into that world!

It was a great opportunity, but in the end I felt really frustrated with the primary instructor whom taught because he was a superflake. Well...I never set out to become a yoga teacher, but it was a great opportunity and I improved my yoga. I do have to say that Yoga studios are as corporate as any other business practice. People are making a bunch of money and like my instructor for the yoga program, who is just another guy out to make his yoga money (he pocketed $120,000+ for his crappy yoga teacher training program) all so that he can keep his porsche running. No hard feelings. Namaste! Onward I go....
After that I won a lottery ticket into the New York City Marathon-no joke! The deal was that one morning I woke up from this awesome dream about running a marathon. I was so into it that in my sleepy morning state of mind, I went to the NYC marathon website and entered my name for the lotto drawing. Mr. Cop and I went on our delayed honeymoon slash first year anniversary to the Southern Caribbean and I came back to the news that I was running a marathon on November 1st, 2009.

Whew! I did all the training and completed the marathon. It was one of the best experiences of my life and one of the most challenging. What next? What can a girl possibly want to do after all that!
My Goals for 2010
I want to find some peace, stability, and courage to tackle the things in life that really matter. I am en route to building better relationships with the people I love. I'm also taking the leap of faith that I am destined to write for a living. My goals for 2010 are:
- Finish my novel (that I've been working on for the last year) and land an agent.
- Submit a short story for publication.
- Build a better relationships through pray, patience, and love (Because being in marriage and dealing with all those new and old family members isn't easy!).
- Write and Illustrate a Children's Books (Something fun and lovely for the whole family).
- Create more wealth in my life by understanding that I'm good enough and worth it.
This blog will focus on my third goal for 2010. The other items I will tackle and write about at Desk and Chair: A Blog about Writing. Until my next post, which won't be three years down the road! Thanks for stopping by to see what will develop!
